Once EASy II Baseline is implemented, the Synthetic Vision System (SVS) capability is one of many EASy II options available to enhance your operational capabilities.
By giving a Head up Display (HUD) “like” symbology coupled with the most advanced 3-D terrain representation based on the Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) database, the SVS options allow the crew to understand their flight path and interact with the surrounding terrain.
In high workload phases of flight such as departure and approach, the SVS option bridges the gap between the long term strategic awareness (INAV / Verticla Profile) and EGPWS short term tactical warinings. It also facilitates the transition from head-down to head-up situations for the left hand pilot while showing the right hand pilot the terrain through the HUD.
Benefits
- Improved flight crew situational awareness
- Improved aircraft operational safety
- Synthetic and realistic image in simulated VFR conditions
- HUD “like” symbology
- Visual cues on airport surface to reduce risk of runway incursions
