More Than Just a Stand-By Instrument

The GI 275 is not just a stand-by instrument, it is an indispensable resource for today’s flight deck. Dassault Falcon Jet has partnered with Garmin to develop an advanced stand-by system that provides added safety, situational awareness, and new capabilities to the award winning EASy flight deck. The GI 275 system integrates with the existing aircraft interfaces to meet the expected functionality of the previous stand by system. The GI 275 brings Garmin’s most pixel-dense display to date with a synthetic vision and terrain overlay mirroring the EASy II PDU, and a touch screen which is easy and intuitive to use.

The GI 275 also has an internal VFR GPS, which provides back up position data for a direct TO function using the 275’s internal navigation and world database. In normal operation the GI 275 uses the #1 GPS position data as well as an FMS interface to both synchronize the aircraft position with the unit, as well as receive the active flight plan from the FMS.

Adding a Second Display

Adding the second GI 275 to the copilot’s side allows the pilot side to remain the dedicated stand-by instrument for certification. The copilot’s GI 275 Is configured to enable a series of additional pages which the flight crew can utilize as an additional resource reducing their workload. Among the available pages are an ADI with SVT to mirror the pilot’s SFD, a dedicated CDI page for a larger VOR/ILS display, an HSI, an HSI with a moving map, a dedicated touchable moving map, and a top down terrain page. The moving map can be panned with a single finger touch, or pinched to zoom. Any of the map pages will draw the active flight plan from the active FMS without pilot action. Taxi with confidence knowing the SafeTaxi© database will display current airport diagrams with an easy to read size, in a “Nose-Up” display, maintaining situational awareness with a respective orientation. The GI 275 also allows crew to select airports and other POI’s on the map to see airspaces with ceilings and floors, frequencies, and airport hot-spots with ease.

The Seam-Less Flight Deck Experience

With Garmin’s Connext technology, the days of bringing a carry on GPS repeater for your tablet are over. When a tablet EFB is installed with the Garmin Pilot app, the GI 275 can easily be connected via internal Bluetooth to synchronize flight plan data from the FMS, GPS, attitude, SVT and air data information.
