Once Falcon Elite II Baseline (WAAS-LPV) is installed, ADS-B Out becomes an option to add more precise surveillance information to your Falcon 900EX or Falcon 900C aircraft. It is designed to replace ATC ground RADAR systems to provide better information to air traffic controllers. ADS-B Out uses a more precise version of the GPS system (called GPS-WAAS in the U.S.) to provide aircraft position information to a ground based network. The KB02 GPS installation is a pre-requisite.
ADS-B Out is currently in use regionally in the U.S., and also worldwide. It is a component of the NextGen U.S. air traffic control system and was mandated in the U.S. by January 2020 and in Europe by June 2020.
Benefits
- Aircraft “broadcasts” its own position and velocity to ATC ground stations and other aircraft within range
- Coverage in geographical areas where no radar coverage exists today (Alaska, Australia, China, etc.)
- ADS-B technology is replacing radar surveillance
