Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast Out
(ADS-B Out)
Once EASy II Baseline is implemented, the ADS-B Out capability is the second of many EASy II options to enhance your operational capabilities.
By removing dependence on ground stationed radar for aircraft position monitoring, ADS-B Out facilitates air traffic monitoring and allows a better use of airspace. This option is a fundamental element to the future of Air Traffic Management (ATM), as a further step after Elementary and Enhanced Surveillance.
ADS-B is already required in Class A, B, and C airspace in the United States and for IFR flights in Europe.
This option provides routing advantages for ADS-B equipped aircraft.
Benefits
- Improved ATC surveillance capability
- Allows reduced separation between aircraft
- Provides routing advantages for equipped aircraft
- Meets mandates (FAA mandate was 2020 and EASA proposal was 2020)
- Support upcoming ADS-B In applications
