Laseref IV

The Laseref IV IRU is a Ring Laser Gyro (RLG) based inertial reference unit (IRU), providing Honeywell’s proven laser inertial technology in the lightest 4 MCU rack mountable package. The IRU calculates and delivers navigation data to the Flight Management System and the display system such as aircraft attitude (roll, pitch), true heading, magnetic heading, and longitudinal acceleration. The Laseref IV IRU contains three force-rebalance accelerometers and three laser gyros, which it uses to measure inertial motion. Laseref II & III became obsolete and Honeywell is no longer supporting these legacy products as of Jan 1, 2020. The Laseref IV upgrade provides a simple unit replacement that brings benefits to the end user for many years to come.
